Headlight Restore Kit.....
Prevous owner had replaced the passenger side headlight. So the drivers side is noticeable has a slight yellowish tint to it. Ive read thru numerous forums n such and notice most kits require sand paper method. I really don't think there that bad to do that route. I was looking for a good rub on rub off product if possible. Anyone tried blue magic ? Meg uiars PlasX and had anygood results ?? Thanks guys -JD

on youtube, you can take a look @ using toothpaste as an alternative.
tried it once, it wasn't as new.. yet some of the yellow stuff went off... but that if ur looking for a 2$ solution.

Its made by 3M, called a 3M headlight lens restoration system part number 39008.

For slightly discolored highlights you may just want to do the wet sand part which is the 3000 grit part of the kit.

I usually use ANY 1,000 grit, then 2,000 grit both wet sand. I finish up with any liquid polish. Some people use 3m, some Meguiars. There are even people too lazy to buy a proper liquid polish so they use toothpaste like boull said.
It's all the same no matter which label is on it. Just be sure to tape around your headlights so you don't scratch the surrounding paint with the sand paper.

The OE headlights usually come with a coating to protect against UV. If you use some kind of abrasive material to polish the headlights, it will remove this coating. In this case, you should wax the headlights once in a while.
I myself use Meguiars and I wax my headlights every time I wax my car.

I used the Meguiars PlastX. Did a far job. Notice that u had to whipe it off quick if not it would dry and leave marks. Still has a yellowish tint too it :-/ may try the sanding method kits :-/ or just buy a headlight hahah

You want to stay as far away from abrasives polishes as possible, Don't even think about sand paper. That is a last resort option when there is excessive surface damage.
All you need is Pittman ALR 360ID acrylic lens deoxidizer to get them clear.
It's the safest way because it's all liquid and non abrasive and it will not hurt the UV layer like abrasives will and it works on contact. No buffing needed.
There is nothing else that removes oxidation on contact or as safely.
The acrylic conditioner (APC) sold with the deoxidizer will keep the lens clear and free of oxidation. It does not hardxen and never yellows. It prevents oxidation from collecting on the surface of the lens..
I would not use wax on my headlights because wax will build up flake and yellow.
Also the heat from the headlight may have a negative effect on the wax causing it to melt and collect along the bottom of the lens or harden across the surface.
Google Pittman ALR 360ID and you can find it online easily.
