320 or 500 cab?

We have a January build date for our CLK Cab, and now I'm starting to wonder if we should spring for the 500 rather than the 320.

We haven't had a V8 in the family since my 400 SEL in '93.

Right now we have a E320 and ML320. The ML is definately underpowered, the E is alirght, but feels a bit slower than my '98 E.

The Cab is going to be a summer car, staying in the garage during late fall, winter and early spring.

How much more is a 500 than a 320 cab?

What do current owners think. My wife will be driving it most of the time (it's her car) but I suspect I'll be driving it a bit too.

Also on the Nav, any word whehter or not it will be DVD based any time during the 04 MY? I could delay my build a bit longer to say March or April if that would get me DVD nav.

Lastly, will the new 7G tranny be in the CLK 500?

Thanks

sl and M-class E320 4Matic SLK350
Here are the pluses for the 320 cabriolet - No gas guzzler tax, same maximum speed as 500, gas savings, probably better resale value based on past history, and $8,000 savings out the door.

Here are the pluses for the 500 cabriolet - somewhat quicker freeway entry acceleration, one inch larger tires, AMG appearence package included, two tone interiors available as extra cost options.

REasons to wait until middle of model year - for the 320 you might get a 350 and for the 500 you might get a 7 speed transmission. Forget seeing DVD nav added until 2005 model at the earliest. And if you are going to garage it for the winter anyway then that can also be factored in.

Reasons not to wait - Won't have the latest and greatest the soonest. With the falling dollar prices could increase.

Question 93 400 Sel

You mentioned you had own 400 SEL in the past, I was wondering what has your experince with that car and if you would recomend or not recomend owning that car. Because I am considering buying it. The 1993 400 I am looking at it is a 2nd owner with 113 k miles on it and apparently seems to be in a good condition.

Any suggestions or recomendations please?

I will appreciate your feed back. I am sorry i cant be of help to you with your question though.

500 all the way I got mine last July and love it especially with the top down, you really feel the difference in acceleration from the 320 my only regret is not waiting until this year for the 07 because of the huge power difference lots of luck

I am sorry i did not check the forum for a long time so I was unable to reply. My experience with that car has been remarkable. Its one of the best built cars by benz in my opinion. Before purchasing make sure its well taken care off.
