Post a video or something if you do beat e60 M5
Just have to ask, doesn't the right tips looks a little bit smaller than the ones to the left? Maybe it's just the pic?

Thanks guys, I can be a bit **** about those things

@Karan, my amg tips are replicas but my tips are the correct size and all. I compared them to OEM amg tips just to double check.
From which seller did you get yours?

i wonder if they are the same size as the OEM ones.

The rep tips were the same width but the issue was the way the oval was shaped. The replica ones were alot more oval

Mike, your tips are reps?? I thought you ordered the OEM tips from parts.com? You posted the part numbers so I thought you got OEM ones. If I knew you had reps, I might have gotten the same because yours look pretty good in the pix. I bet its much much cheaper too.

I paid over $400 for just the passenger side dual tips. I'm picking up my car tomorrow. Its got a brand new OEM CLK 55 rear bumper with the quad cut outs from the factory.

Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow.

Kevin, my tips are reps. I'm very pleased with them.
I understood that you wanted OEM tips since you we're getting a new OEM bumper with factory cut outs and all.

I think I paid all in all $200 for 4 tips(ordered in two rounds, high shipping cost).

Post some pics when you have picked it up.

Mike, the rep tips on your car looks authentic, I couldn't tell looking from the pix, it sure got me fooled. The OEM tips are such a rip off. Looking at your pix, I think the reps are a great deal esp for customers in the states. $70 Reps vs. $400+ OEM.

I will post pix of my quads when I pick it up. I was told my car will be ready today.

I like them, it all comes down to what you want.

I think you did the right thing getting 2 OEM tips, since you already got 2 OEM tips.

I only had a single tip muffler before and getting 4 new OEM tips for $800 excl shipping & import tax(25%) wasn't worth it to me.

Looking forward to the pics pal!

Ok guys, don't laugh at the wannabe quad looking exhaust system ok. ***I copied mikata's set up***. I will have to install a true quad exhaust system soon, would haate to have to replace the OEM AMG exhaust with an aftermarket muffler such as Magnaflow, but thats the only way so I don't have a choice.

The rear bumper is a new OEM CLK 55.

The left side is OEM AMG exhaust with dual OEM AMG tips.

The right side are OEM AMG tips that I bought from parts.com ($400 plus shipping costs).

There's a pipe that connects from the left muffler to the right side tips. Everything else on the exhaust is OEM. (I know it's a wannabe quad set up)

Lol what?? I never suggested anything.
I never told you to go the route I went with the exhaust.
Only thing I did was give you the part# for the tips.

Don't fret over changing out the OEM muffler for a Magnaflow or any other high flow reputable offering - the OEM muffler is chambered and very restrictive. As long as you keep some cats and resonator in place the tone will sound great and the system will flow far better.

And I don't think you exactly copied Mike's system... his tips are straight

J/K, I don't think anyone where has ever had a system done and got the tips right the first time, I know I sure didn't.

ROFL...I didn't even realize the tips on the right side of my car are crooked. Yes, I definitely need to get them fixed ASAP!

Kev, I want a muffler on there because I don't want it to be noisy or ricey sounding. I want the sound to be as close to OEM 63 sounding as possible, nothing more. Definitely no loud truck/motorcycle/muscle car sounds.

Any suggestions on a good muffler that meets my need? Thanks.

I'm using Magnaflow and it sounds fantastic - that's with headers, 100 cell primary cats, no secondaries and a supercharger... On a fairly OEM car a Magnaflow will just add a bit more deep tone and slight volume, no drone, no Harley crap. All the 63's I've heard have a much deeper tone than the 550's, the Magnaflow or Borla or other such types will get you close to the sound you want IMO.

Ok thanks Kev, looks like I'm going to select magnaflow.

Now I heard there are several types of magnaflow mufflers? Which model/serial type do you have and where did you purchased it from online?

Do you have two magnaflows (one for each side) or just one?

Kevin, don't take my comment as an insult in any way. It wasn't meant like that.
I can be pretty **** when it comes to, who said what and what-not
The car looks great, as Kev said the tips are little crocked but most of us here, also had to correct the tips at least once to get them straight.

Just take a look at my exhaust thread "AMS/Magnaflow review something something...". I have pics and the part numbers listed in there. Not being too lazy to find the link, I'm in a dinner meeting in Cairo right now

(Ya they think I'm looking up some technical specs for them lol, I needed a break)
