Eurocharged TCU tune for CLK500 - The Review

I've had the Eurocharged TCU tune for about 3 months and I'm ready to post my review! Buffyclk500 also received the TCU tune and his review is located below:
https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...u-upgrade.html

As some of you may know, I have a 2004 CLK500 with a Kleemann Supercharger, Kleemann ECU and a few other mods; so my experience maybe different than someone who is running N/A. This tune is for the 5-Speed Transmissions and my car only has 2 modes S/C vs M/S/C the ///AMG's have (the tune also give total control of the gears if you have the M mode).

The TCU tune removes the Torque Limiters, raises the redline to 6300 RPM, and modified for faster shifting.

C-Mode/Normal Driving - Shifts are still comfortable, but faster and smoother!

S-Mode/WOT - Definitely shifts much faster! Very happy! On the 2-3 shifts, there is a slight pause and I was hoping that the TCU would fix that (its better but not fixed). I come to find out that the issue is in the ECU and Eurocharged has found a solution for it (E55/C32 drivers experience the same problem and all the R&D was done on those platforms), so the Eurocharged ECU is next on my list.

S-Mode/Normal Driving - 98% of my time using the tune has been during normal driving and I believe this is where the tune really shines! No more ridiculous .75 second pause during shifts (especially the 1-2), fast but not harsh. Much more responsive to the accelerator and more aggressive shifting algorithm (will kickdown sooner and hold gears longer). On the highway, it seems that the torque converter is "tighter" and less slushy. Before the tune, my car would rev 3000RPMs @ 80MPH but now it revs 2600RPMs @ 80MPH.

In conclusion, I am very happy with the tune and would recommend it to my W209 Tribe. I now believe that the main difference between the ///AMG and non-///AMG transmission is in the tune (in other words, Mercedes is sandbagging their tune in order to make the ///AMG seem more sporty). The hardware is probably different too, but my trans is holding up fine and my car is Supercharged!

Great review as always Carlos, not only in regards to the TCU tune but also in shedding light on the ECU being the culprit in regards to the 2-3 shift lag.

I am currently in talks with 2 different tuning companies in regards to a TCU tune for my 7 speed - I certainly hope my results will be as positive as your my friend.

That is quite the beast you've got there, keeps getting better all the time

It's still a work in progress. I'm glad I can add some more technical knowledge to the forum. You're the one with the real BEAST buddy!
Don't worry, I'll create a thread once I get that 2-3 shift issue fixed!

Sounds good dude, I'm interesting in hearing not just that you got it resolved but more so what they do to rectify it. When I eventually get my car back I'm going to get it down to Abu Dhabi for a full out custom ECU and TCU dyno tune. I want to get everything cleaned right up then leave it, time to enjoy the ride

Great write-up, now you need to have the ECU re-mapped by EUROCHARGED.

Supercharged CLK500 & ML500
UPDATE: I recently bought a STAR DAS Diagnosis System and followed the instructions in this thread to reset my transmission adaptation settings:
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...ml#post4408594

WOW! BIG Difference in performance! I did the regular "Sneaky ECU Reset" trick, but it didn't change the characteristics as much as this method. I don't know what's happening underneath, but if I were to guess, the adaptations happen using the new Eurocharge TCU settings (verses the stock TCU settings I believe I was running).

I've been driving around and testing for a few weeks; so far so good! If you get a TCU tune, make sure to do the adaptations above!

I've had my CLK500 Supercharged for about 4 years now and she is still a BEAST! I'm very happy with the power, performance and the sound!
