Keyless Go Start/Stop button not working

Hi

The start/stop button on the gearshift just stopped working - all other Keyless Go functions are ok.

Anybody tried this before?

NO LONGER ACTIVE

So no messages, like "Key not Detected?" It may just be a problem with the contacts on the button or the wiring harness in the console.

I was thinking the same about the contacts and defect button - but I can not find anything about this

Any idea on how to take it apart?

I believe it is disassembled just like the standard shifter - pull the chrome surround trim plate off of the console, then lift the leather shift boot over the knob and there will be a plastic lock collar that rotates 90-degrees to releast the knob which can then be pulled straight up and off the shaft. IIRC, the button on the top of the shifter just pushes on a rod that goes through the shifter's hollow shaft and contacts a button inside the AGS (automatic gear selector) module. Either that rod is broken or the switch in the AGS is dirty. I was able to take the AGS apart in my W163 ML to clean it's TouchShift contacts. I'm not sure if it will help with the CLK, but this might give you an idea:
