so, pardon my igorance, but where does that $100 item go? What's it look like? I saw an E Class with some brake shield item; did a double-take: couldn't see brake at all...

The dust shields looks like this(pics taken from benzworld):

They go behind the rotors.

Just wanted to ask as I was considering this same upgrade for my car.. Did you end up upgrading the rear brakes as well or is it fine to leave them standard.. I'd love to fit c32 calipers/discs up front (current brakes look tiny behind my 19 inch rims) and I've found a good deal on a set of c32 calipers so just want to make sure if it's ok to just upgrade the front brakes.

It is OK only to upgrade the front rotors.

Rear is anyway only 10 - 15% of the total stopping power.

Have fun stopping...

+1 on what clk63dk wrote.
It's OK, as long as you dont put bigger brakes at the rear.

I have 18" rims and the calipers look a bit small. If you find a good deal on 6/4 pot CLK/SLK calipers(hard to find used) go with those instead
But the C32 calipers are a nice upgrade.

Thanks for the info guys just wanted to make sure. I'm from Melbourne , Australia and the calipers I've got my eyes in are in the UK so just want to make sure before I purchase them.. I was going to buy the second hand calipers and just buy new c32 amg discs so should be a nice little change. In regards to the brake lines will anything need to be changed? Or just the rotor and brake sensors and pads..

You dont need new brake lines or brake pad sensors.
Unless the sensors have gone off due to worn out pads you dont need to change them.
Mercedes use the same brake lines for alot of their cars including C32/C55/SLK32.

I went with new OEM brake rotors and pads because I find that the best.

What you need: brake rotors, pads and Bosch dot 4 brake fluid for bleeding the brakes after install. You might also need new bleed nipples for the calipers if the ones that are on the have rusted.

The one thing I like about the brake upgrade is the rotors, nevermind the calipers because they are, all in all the same size as stock but the rotor cover almost the entire rim which looks nice.

What year is the clk 320? Looking to do the same upgrade all the way around. Is it alright to use 4pot c32 calipers and rotors all thr way aroud

*C32/C55/CLK500/CLK550/CLK55/SLK55/CLK350(345mm) brake rotors

I bought a new brake dust shield thinking I needed that because of the larger rotor but the shield was exactly the same size as the one I had, 100$ wasted, but that's my fault for bad research before doing this mod.

Small review: I have only had time to drive the car for 1 hour or so, but I can't feel any difference in braking power. Not that I was looking for it since this mod was purely cosmetic.
Brake in period maybe?

I will post more pics of the car in full body shot once it's washed and cleaned in a few hours.

What do you think?

I have a 2001 CLK 320 Cabrio W208; my brembo cross drilled rotors are rusted throughout the vents and inside collar after just one year and mt stock Ate calipers are fully rusted as well. Can someone tell Meyer options for calipers and rotors? I heated the Zimmermann rotors hold up rust wise and the stock Ate calipers are best in class. However I would like to put a caliper on that has the Medcesdes logo over the caliper. They look great on E classes I've seen and more importantly I have never seen one rusted.

Thanks!
