I presume you've tried flipping it up then back down again and listen for the audible "click"?

Check the fuse if the controls are non responsive I doubt thats it though. The set needs to be locked in place for the control to work, Check and see if something is holding it up..

Mine does this occasionally. Barring anything under the seat preventing it from going down fully, I usually get mine working again bay slamming it down pretty hard, and then it works for weeks. I haven't had time to look to see what's going on with the mechanism, but I suspect there's a sensor that get dirty or is misaligned. If you can get yours working at all, it's easy to take the seat's back panel off (two TORX bolts on the bottom edge, then it drops down) and you should be able to see the mechanism there.

Yep, mine does that, too. It locks, but it doesn't trigger the sensor so the headrest stays down, the seat controls don't work, and the MFD shows the message. Slamming it in place does the trick with mine. I guess yours has a broken or disconnected sensor.
