6000K fogs ... to canbus or not?

My next upgrade is 6000 K fogs .... was able to find a discount coupon for HID extra on our forum etc..

but now I have come across a dilemma...

do I get the can bus $100++ or xenon $59??

anyone notice a difference?

something i found that makes physical sense from the bimmer forums

55w Kits are not recommended for smaller fog light housings because they tend to concentrate a large amount of heat in a small area.

agreed. 35 w is all you need.

Xenon is a standard bulb that is used in place of halogens, most of the blue tinted bulbs are marketed as xenon, not all actually are. Xenon refers to a small percentage of xenon gas injected during the manufacturing process that is supposed to produce more white light.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
HID bulbs also use xenon gas and that's why the term "xenon" is often used interchangeably with "HID". The gas in any bulb contributes to the color of light and xenon tends to give the most neutral tint compared to other inert gases used. Xenon is often used in filament-based incandescent bulbs to make them look whiter, but it can't make them bright-white like true HID's due to the color of the glow of the filament wire. For non-HID bubs, the use of xenon gas is mostly a marketing scheme.

I'd like to change my fog lamp bulbs for something whiter that will look better with my new 6000K Xenon low-beams (I want new high-beams and parking lights too, but that's another story). I've got no preference about bulb type, and I might even just go to AutoZone and ask what their "whitest" H11 55W bulb is (unless this thread ends up proposing a particular bulb). Why is it that the manual tells how to replace every other bulb but the front fog??

edit: I did some searching "elsewhere" and found the attached, which looks a little ambitious, and this pic, from a E Class I believe, showing how to do it from the "trap door:"
