7 speed tranny coming for CLK 500???

On the E Class thread a poster reported that he was assured by his dealer that the new 7 speed transmission would be added to all E500's at the inception of 2004 model year production. He specifically referred to getting it with an E500 he was picking up on European Delivery in October.

I note that the new brochure for the 2004 CLK class, however, still refers to the current transmissions on the CLK 500's. Anyone know if all 2004 CLK 500's will be sans the 7 speed or if there will be a mid year transmission upgrade concurrent with the E Class in October or thereabouts?

There is no 7G for the 209 according to the latest Automobile magazine.

Automobile magazine does not control MB marketing. If it is perceived that CLK sales are slipping and customers are demanding equally up to date technology like DVD NAV and 7 speed transmissions then you can be assured this will happen. Tell your dealer that you were considering a CLK but with obsolete technology it no longer is desirable to you. If enough people do this you would see these changes.
