Just joined the forum after 1 month of ownership of a clk500 cabriolet 2005.
Been reading loads and you guys have solved my first issue, the roof was not opening remotely with the key. After reading some posts I changed the key for the spare one I got with the car, and it worked! So guess the battery in the key I had been using was so low it wouldn't operate the hood.
My second query may also be solved as I have a piston slap style noise on acceleration, there are one posts about this pointing to engine mounts, so have booked it into the local dealership for them to check. We shall see if that's the issue. It doesn't make that noise all the time, so fingers crossed!
Brilliant car, just amazing to drive, it's a keeper.
