mmm carbon fibre ;)

Hi guys just thought I'd share something that has just been finished sent to me via email today. I had it custom made from formymercedes .. Not sure about the rules on this forum of what we're allowed and not allowed to post up.. Some may call it a steering wheel.. To me .. When I opened up the email I felt like I was lookin at **** lol

Jerry from formymercedes also organized to have my glove box trim and armrest custom made in carbon fibre as well along with the carbon fibre gear knob.
All is needed now is to wrap all that avantgarde silver trim
The steering wheel seems to be a mix of the DTM and clk black series wheel as it looks more aggressive than the standard steering wheels found in the regular clk 55 and 63.

Will be postin up more photos once I receive everything and when its all fitted

Will also be fitting this very soon as well.. C32 amg intake that has had the intake resonators removed and replaced with 3" piping..

You have the same steering wheel as mine now (sans CF)

I gotta admit it really will change the look of the interior. Especially because it's something you're constantly using, you can really admire it.. Also with the top down the sun will make that carbon shine even more

It cost me $775 for the steering wheel alone.. Pretty decent i rekon considering its a genuine Mercedes core steering wheel and real carbon.. I've got the leather wrapped in alpaca grey and perforated to match my car.

Thanks I'm really happy with it. I reccomend this upgrade for any w209 owner..
Haven't got it fitted yet but really makes a difference in the feel .. Better grip and when you look inside the car it's probably the first thing that catches your eye

How are you going to fit the airbox Y-pipe onto your round MAS housing?

I've got a friend of mine (also from the forums here who upgraded his c32 intake to the SL55) hes going to to fit some tubing in place.. He's already planned it out so I'll take some more pics once it's on.

Looks beautiful! How much was the armrest and glove box trim? What is the turnaround time? I would love those two items for my clk as well.

Cheers,

Thankyou ! The prices are...
$69 glovebox lid handle
$185 armrest cover
$775 steering wheel

It was surprisingly quick for production.. I'd say a good two weeks or less.. The steering wheel took longer.
Contact jerry from formymercedes.com . Excellent service and great products.
I strongly reccomend him to anyone. I also purchased my rims from him too. I told him he was lucky his store is located in another country from where I am otherwise I would've already raided it lol

Thanks for the quick response. I looked at theis website, but didn't see any of the cf products mentioned or offered. I'll try contacting jerry.

Just tell him Nick showed you the pieces.. I think I'm the first from him to get the carbon parts as nobody else as ordered them from what I've seen on the website as he usually puts sample photos.. He will be using some photos of my car for display purposes so other buyers can see what the product looks like .. Jerry ended up putting the carbon gear knob and the rims from my car as a reference so that buyers can see them fitted on the vehicle .
Im probably one of the crazy ones from here from melb, Australia who has gone all out and purchased all these parts as I've never seen another Clk yet with the carbon pieces..

I'm sure everyone agrees but when it comes to modifications it's good to be different sometimes and stand out .. Makes the car more unique and individual

Allright guys as promised here are the photos of the carbon pieces all finally installed. Very very happy with the new steering wheel. changes the feel completely and you feel more solid and secure holding it as it has the proper grip handles/grooves. The carbon is also amazing and when the sun hits it.. Also fitted the C32 AMG intake... The Y pipe was basically connected to the Maf using a coupler then just clamped up to avoid leaks.. The intake resonators were also removed and swapped with 3" tubing instead of the 2.5 .. Fitment was ok, only the right side (when facing engine) sits slightly higher due to not being able to fully clamp the filter housing onto the engine as it would cause the the rubber on the y pipe to squeeze and reduce air flow.. Other wise its fully functional and does give the car a nice growl as well as make the engine bay more attractive
