some upgrades with a dyno run.

Hi guys,

Newly installed NEEDWINGS intake with some magnaflow exhaust.. dyno turned out not bad.. 233.7 whp and 236.9 wheel torque i drive a clk350. Going to get ECU reflashed at a local eurocharged dealer then another dyno run with it and see how much gain. what you guys think about the intake? I felt that it did make my car louder and I can personally feel the car got faster, or just my mind?....

it works like the e55 air box, but more twick, so the air will straight shoot into the engine. the airbox is replaced by this system. the filter is inside the bigger tube section a cone shaped K&N so less bentting the air and no sharp angles to improve air flow,... i think..... its a complete cold air intake system with something called tephlon (if i spelled right) coating...

Thanks for sharing, I really like that intake picture. I bet you do feel it in driving, probably not all in your head (just a little). Thanks for the DYNO too, hope to see new numbers once you get eurocharged.

Seems like a pretty respectable WHP number, what was the number before the air intake swap?

I have no idea before... If we use 0.8... Should be stock it's like 268 bhp and 258 torque.... What corrections shall we use? 0.8? 0.7? im really not sure... prob like 10 to 20 hp.. 15 to 25 torque? I think the torque gained more than hp...My exhaust is pretty much not a lot... Just deleted resonator and 2nd cats, add 2 after market reasonators and 2 magnaflows..to keep raspy noise down...

Stock 350s put approx 215~220hp at the wheels. So you do have some decent gains.

I did some seaching awhile back looking for dyno results for the 550. The avg I could find for the 550 engine was 267/276 (hp/torque). That gives a drop of -30% from the published bhp.

A V6 Mustang is about 220 rwhp. There is probably less drag on the Mustang engine than on the 350.

I would guess 210-215 for the 350........ 234 is impressive. Congrats!

I think it would be more like 47 bhp from the 550 assuming a similiar loss of 30% to the rear wheels. You've cut the differential from 80 to 47 bhp. I'm going from memory that the 350 is 302 bhp.

Dammmmm gonna take forever to get up with 550s for me... well ill try my best... anyone know anything other than euro charged have a decent price and hp gains? my local one is having problem working on my car, they claimed that they having extreme difficallty upgrade system inorder to flash newer mercedes like 2007+... so im still waiting if they can solve the problem.. got a local place charge 900 for 10% to 20% gain which sounds impossible to be 20%...

Thought about it.... Like the c32.... But..... I don't think the c32 and e55 will fit over the newer maf sensor... Plus I think this is an upgrade for the amg models as well... I think...
