problem with audio 10 (BE6021)

I have a mercedes clk 200 w209 (2003) and the audio 10 has a problem the last four days. When I turn on the audio 10 in radio or cd mode, after 10 sec in turns off. During driving my car suddenly it turns on again and after 5 sec in turns off again. This it happens continuously. I have checked the fuses and they are good.Although I am a newer on this site I will be more than appreciated for an answer. thx.

When it shuts off, can you manually turn it back on by pressing the power button (volume knob)? If not, then this sounds like a power supply issue - maybe a loose connection in the wiring harness. If it does com back on when you press the power button, then it's a CAN bus problem (which still could be a loose or b ad wiring harness).

Rodney thank you for your quick reply. Sometimes when I press the power button it turns back on for about 10 sec. But to get on I have to press the button two or three times. After that, it turns off again. I would like to ask if is it possible to make a reset by my own to come in normal position or if is it possible to go in a service station to put it in the diagnostic computer to find the problem. I believe that the problem is in the communication between audio 10 and something to check the audio 10. I have to tell you that a week before I had a problem with the driver's door and the mechanic put out the SRS airbag, so he put it in the diagnostic computer (when he puts the airbag back again) to erase the SRS indication on the cockpit display. After that it began the problem with audio 10. I don't know if something happened in the communication after that.

Resetting an SRS error should have no effect on the radio, but maybe the mechanic damaged or disconnected something while working on the door airbag? Yes, i would advise hooking it up to SDS and checking the audio system. Or at least pull the radio out and make sure the wiring harness is securely connected, not pinched, etc.
