Well, I guess there could be a risk of fire if enough oil collected on the exhaust manifold. And of course if you lost enough oil, you could damage the engine, but leaking valve cover seals usually just seep slowly. It is not a complicated job at all. I think we've either had a DIYT posted, or at least enough discussion that you'll find the procedure documented.

Akebono front EUR847 and rear EUR603. Do those part numbers sound right? I have an '06 CLK500.

Just had the Bosch Quietcast Premium Pads installed 2 months ago and they're great! $80 for both front/rear pads and sensors are included. No noise yet and very little dust. Highly recommended!

has anyone heard or had experience with "stoptech" brake pads and rotors? Thats the route im leaning towards for new pads and rotors. The only thing holding me back is the cost cuz they are pricey. I wanna make sure its worth it.

^ stoptech is a well known company that is owned by centric. Centric owns many break and other part companies.

if i was you i would get Porterfied pads with R1 concept premium rotors. ran those on my clk350 and wow! when its time to do my clk550 pads and rotors (if i cant get the funds for a clk63 caliper upgrade) i will be installing the same setup

I put Centric D+S rotors and PosiQuiet ceramic pads ont he C240 for about $300 all around. They are "cheap Chinese parts", but honestly, they have been very good. They have lasted 40K+ miles and are just now needing some attention (a bit of vibration). On the C240, they give much firmer pedal feel and shorter stops and its OEM brakes. They are not as good as the OEM brakes on the CLK550, though. Honestly, the stock brakes ont eh CLK550 are pretty darn good. A bit dusty, but nothing a good washing won't take care of.

Brembo discs and pads

I changed my discs and pads from OEM to new brembo discs and pads all around and I've been very impressed. They have a firm feel to them and despite some hard stops I haven't noticed them fade

On another thread I asked about EBC RedStuff brake pads and Ebc Ultimax Sport Rotor Kit (front) / Ebc Ultimax Sport Rotor Kit (rear) for a 04 CLK320 Anyone here have any thoughts opinions or experiences with any of these?

Good Recommendation !!!!

I put new factory rotors and EBC Redstuff pads on three weeks ago. I could not get the pads to stop squealing...gave up and looked at the Bosch on Pelicanparts and remembered your post. I ordered a set. Thank goodness the CLK pads are so easy to swap!

Did a little research and they are a ceramic blend and like you said - they come with the wear sensors already installed in the pad . Each pad was wrapped in paper and much better packaged than any other pad I've purchased, they were in perfect condition (most are tossed in the box, most arrive dinged up) Plenty of anti squeal lube included.

They work great. I went out and bedded them in, and they feel and stop as well as the redstuff pads.

Bosch Quietcast Premium is highly recommended by me and is now my go-to pad.

There are no real quirks. The V8 uses a typical fixed caliper system. With old pads in place, I use wedges between the pads and rotor to push the pistons back into the calipers. Then knock the retainer pins out and remove the pads. I also always remove the rotors and knock them down (i.e. sand down the shine).

Frank, I have the EBC Redstuff pads and they are great for me, except for the brake dust. Mine squealed a lot when I first changed them. I lubed the moving parts a couple times over about 500 miles and they have been quiet for over a year. Just FYI.

I will probably change them next year, just because of the brake dust.
