SRS light on after seat belt replacement
SRS light on after seat belt replacement
My seat belt tension device failed so I ordered a new unit and put it in. The SRS light came up after I took out the old unit and started the car. The message remains after putting in the new device. Any ideas? Is this something the dealer has to clear?
Unlike the MIL that extinguishes once the underlying problem goes away, the SRS light doesn't - as long as there is a stored code, it stays illuminated. You'll need SDS, Carsoft or an aftermarket scanner that can reset SRS errors.
