space above front wheel tyres

Just a question on my CLK320 avantagarda cabriolet - I noticed there is a metal part maybe from the suspension or shocks which is only 2cm above the tyre tread on my front wheels , is this a normal spacing? i dont have any problem when driving. I understand the suspension on the Avantagard is more solid than the other clk320 models.

That's normal. That is where your front suspension spring sits. The clearance will be even less on the inside of the tire. Those parts move with the wheel, so there is no danger they will touch. As far as I know your susension is no differnent than anybody else's.
