Bad low beam igniter
The dealer was trying to sell me a new igniter for my head lamp which was $1100.00 but i found a used one in good running condition for 100.00 and i am looking to change it myself. How do i remove it? 2005 clk 500 coupe

I believe to change the igniter you need to open up your headlight
I had the same issue with my OEM bixenons where one of them melted out. I just purchased the aftermarket headlights from fishcake after.

I replaced the HID ballast on mine awhile back:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BOSCH-AL-Xen...d96330&vxp=mtr (not that exact item, I bought a used one from a C32 that matched part #)
On the passenger side I was able to get to it from under the car, pull the front skid plate and part of the wheel well out. It's screwed into the bottom of the headlight assembly.
However the driver-side is blocked by the windshield washer reservoir and I had to pull the bumper
You can see it in the way here:
I was taking it off anyway so it wasn't a big deal. I don't know if there's any other way.
