Just dropped a headliner
Had to replace my damaged sunroof frame.
Keep them suckers lubed!
But anyway the task may appear daunting but it is really no big woof.
A couple of torx and a small screwdriver can do the job.
Watch the clips on the pillar pieces.
The book says 5.5 hours but it should take about 3.
Everything unscrews or unsnaps and the WIS directions are pretty good.

I'm glad to hear it went well. Dropping the headliner can be a real PITA just because of all the trim parts that have to come out. Also, removing it from the car (I assume you just lowered it, though) is a real challenge, though easier on the pillar-less W209 than other models.
