Replacing convertible rear partition strut cylinders

How difficult is it to change the two convertible partition strut cylinders on a 2005 clk500? Every time I try to put the top down I get a message about closing the partition, even thoughit isin place, it creeps forward just enough to allow the switch to open. I am assuming new cylinders will keep it in place. Right now I have the shelf zip tied in place, but that is inelegant ( though $85 less expensive in parts). The mb struts are about $40 each are there after markets that hold up better?

NO LONGER ACTIVE
I think you asked this over on Benzworld, too, but this is super-easy. One end of the strut snaps onto a ball joint, the other is held in place by a nut and bolt.
