Ambient Temp Sensor always shows a higher temp

Hi all. I realize my car always shows a higher temp. I mean, if the external temp is 22C it shows 28C..etc. Do you guys know what it is?

Regards
Ricardo

I had body work once and the sensor was too near the engine bay after. Could be a minor thing.

Its possible. Is it easier to access or I do need any tool to check it?

Thanks

The sensor is located on the front bumper, right side, lower grille, near the foglight. If you can't see it protruding through the grille, then that could be the problem. Just remove the plastic shroud under the bumper to access it and put it back in the right place.

Thanks Rudeney. I will check that tomorrow. Do you think I need to replace it or its closer to a hot stuff ? I mean, it is working but with 3..4..5C degrees higher than the real temp.

My guess is that it has become dislodged. I will say that the sensor is not going to be 100% accurate. Mine seems to read a few degrees (Fahrenheit) higher than my wife's Jeep. I haven't checked the CLK vs. the C.
