new CLK320 0-60mph

new CLK320 0-60mph
On the official mb site, the 0-60mph time of the new CLK320 is 7.9s. The time for the 208 model is supposedly only 6.9 (official mb numbers). Is this a typo? If the new 320 is a full second slower than the old one, then that's pretty bad. Or was the old model's time of 6.9s not accurate?

Yeah what you said makes sense but a full second slower? Wow, that's pretty harsh. And I was beginning to like the new look too. If the new model really is this much slower, then it looks like I might end up going with the 2002 model after all.

7.9 seconds are 0-62mph, not 60mph...
I've posted this in another thread before about the W209 CLK55, but here is a similar one regarding the W209 CLK320
Mercedes Germany are very conservative and records the 0-100km sprints for their cars with the tank at 90% full, driver 68 kg, and luggage 7 kg. Mercedes USA always quotes faster time in comparison.
0-100km/h for W208 CLK320 is 8.1 seconds according to Mercedes Germany, this equates to about 7.8 seconds from 0-60mph but Mercedes USA have the W208 CLK's 0-60mph time at 6.9 seconds.
0-100km/h for the new W209 CLK is 7.9 seconds according to Mercedes Germany, meaning 0-60mph in about 7.6 seconds and I am sure when the new W209 CLK arrives in US, Mercedes USA will have the 0-60mph for this car at 6.7-6.8 seconds.
The same goes to all other models, MB USA always have much faster acceleration times compared to MB Germany. MB Germany's 0-100km/62mph time for C320 is 7.8 seconds and MB USA's 0-60mph for C320 is 6.9 seocnds. Please check out www.mercedes.com if you have doubts.
