Fix those black bolster wear marks
My wife's 2005 CLK has a black interior. The Bolster is starting to show it's age with brown wear marks/stretch marks. I'm a big fan of leatherique, but I'm not a fan of their "Dye" which is more a paint. It'll just peel off after a year or so.
What to do?
Go to your local art store & pick up a bottle of indelible ink (black in my case). Make sure it isn't water soluble, make sure it isn't gloss. Put on plastic gloves, get a cotton ball, dab it into the ink & rub it into the leather. A non-conspicuous spot first. For me, a perfect color match! Now there is no more wear spot visible. I put leatherique over it after it dries. and finish with Pristine clean to get any residue off.
This will last a couple years, then you do it again. That is until your ready to replace the leather interior.
