Sunroof Panel

My battery went dead the other day and the car was rebooted. I found out the sunroof's auto-sliding mechanism is not working so I went ahead to re-sync the sliding mechanism.

The sliding mechanism is working now but the interior sun shade panel would no longer slide to the front with the sunroof. There must be a hook somewhere to bring the panel to the front. Where is this hook?

The sun shade never closes with the glass - you always have to close it manually. It will, however, open with the glass.

Are you sure the sunroof is closed properly? Close it manually (holding the switch) to make sure it is closed tight.

Once the battery is drained and after recharge, we usually have to re-sync all the windows and sunroof. My windows were OK this time but not the sunroof.

Close the sunroof, then pull down on the switch (for the tilt-close function) for about 20-30 seconds. Eventually, the sunroof will tilt up on its own, and that should reset it to the proper position.

The mirror has an LCD panel in front of it used for auto-dimming. The LCD has broken and leaked. Unfortunately, it's not a cheap part. Some people buy a non-dimming glass to save money.

Hi guys,

Speaking of the sunroof and the sun shade, how do you clean the top of the sun shade? It is not possible to clean it from outside by opening the sunroof, since the sun shade auto-closes. I want to clean it because when I check it with my fingers, I can feel plenty of dust there.

Is there really a way?

First, slide the glass open about 1/3 of the way, and fully open the shade. Using an appropriate tool (plastic wedge) pry off the plastic trim on the underside of the front of the glass. Now slide the glass open fully, and you should be able to close the shade, thus gaining access from the top.

That is going to help a lot!

Thank you!
