Upper limit $ if the worst happens
Saw a 2005 CLK500 for sale within 50 miles. $16,000 loaded(nav cooled seats, keyless go) 80,000 miles. I know that the early 722.9 had possible problems.
I haven't yet done any due diligence(inspection/codes reading/history) but at 80,000 miles wouldn't any problems have shown up already and if the car would be affected what are the upper limit $ to repair/replace parts.

I would say about $7K is worst case - you can buy a whole brand new 722.9 for that much:
