Paint match on an 07
How close is the paint color on an 07 silver clk? The car I picked up as a replacement got damaged in transit and I would like to swap hoods with the old salvaged car that I bought back from Insurance

As long as the color codes match (it will be either 762 Diamond Silver or 775 Iridium Silver) and if they were built in the same factory, you should have a good match other than sun fade. Silver is a somewhat forgiving color. It's not as good as the gold/bronze Desert Silver color, but not as bad as black or red.

Paint match is good
Good News
We got the hood on yesterday.
No broken clips this time on the hood vent - pushing the clips gently toward the center of the vent then hooking the vent with an o-ring pic and pulling up is the trick - don't forget to take the 3 screws off the inside. Broke two torx bits on a hood bolt that ended up needing help from a chisel.
At first I thought it was different but silver is so reflective it depends on how the light hits it. looks great and the dented hood is now on the wrecked car
