Unhappy Accidently Pressed Glovebox Latch!

Hi guys,

First post!..

...The glove box on my W209 was a bit tempermental when it comes to shutting first time, so i decided to have a little fiddle...

...I pressed down on the latch, which accidently moved it to the 'locked' position. This means I can no longer close it!!

Simple question: how do I unlock it?!

I've tried locking and unlocking the car with the key fob, but no joy. Additionally, there is no little lever on the lock as some forums suggested.

HELP

Do you mean the 'latch' on the inside of the glove compartment? The part that clasps onto the 'hoop' at the top of the GC to keep it closed?

Have you tried just grasping the front as if you would normally try to open it? That should release the latch. You might need to put a tiny bit of tension on the latch while do it.

Thanks ambit.

Fortunately I sussed it out before anybody replied - but you're right, you had to to apply some resistence to part of the latch before pulling the handle like you would normally. This released it.

Thanks!!
