Problems with my CLK500

Hello MBWorld,
[Thread also on BenzWorld] I recently have had some problems with my CLK 500's memory function and the sunroof. First of all, when I adjust my mirrors and then hold the memory dial wheel to bring it back to the position I set, they do not go back. I also have another issue, which is not related to my first issue. my sunroof no longer works when I hold the button to open the roof. It only moves in inches and never closes all the way. Each time I press it, it goes in a different direction and i can never get it to fully close because it doesn't slide fully. Any help is fully appreciated. Thanks!

Hope this helps the problem with the roof, it did for me
Synchronizing sliding/pop-up roof:
If the power supply was interrupted (battery disconnected or low), or if the sliding/pop-up roof is blocked during closing/opening procedure, the system has to be synchronized. To do so, turn electronic key in steering lock to position 2, move and hold switch in direction (3), until the sliding/pop-up roof is completely raised at rear, and hold for additional 1 second. If the pop-up roof simply will not open or close all the way after using this procedure, clean the tracks and lubricate them with the MB lubricant made for the purpose.

Which position is position 2? is that when you just turn the key for accessories? And what is direction 3 and what is raised at rear? Sorry for all the questions, thanks for the help though!

position 2 is the 2nd turn point of the key from inserting ie one away from cranking.
Regards the sunroof position 3 is pushing the button up ie to raise the rear of the sunroof not slide.
I found I had to hold for longer than the 1 second, more like 5!

Hope it works for you

Glad to hear it works.

Windows, seats, mirrors, steering wheel position (easy entry/exit) and the like can be reset by running them fully in one direction, holding the switch at full travel for approximately 2 seconds (or longer), then running to the opposite limit, holding for about 2 seconds (or longer). It is not unusual to have to do this after the battery is disconnected. The positioning of many of these features is controlled by a Hall's Effect generator, a simple device that counts revolutions of a motor shaft, and it must be set to register the proper number of turns to reach both limits of travel.
