Info based on VIN
I read in another post the Rudeney provided a data sheet for a w209 based on VIN.
I wonder what kind of information can be obtained bt a VIN. How about the current location (US, Canada?)? Repair history, etc.

With the VIN, it is possible to get the current registered owner's name and address, though for privacy purposes, this is generally not available to lay persons. You have seen the info available from Carfax on certain repairs, accidents and title information. Additionally, MBUSA has a VMI (vehicle master inventory() system that tracks every owner/dealer interaction.
The datacard information I have available is just based on the factory build build options. You can get this on the "Russian site" yourself through MY2007. My copy of EPC is good through MY2011.
