CLK270 CDI 2003 - lack of power and starting problem
Hi, I hope some uber experienced Merc mechanics out there can help me diagnose the problem I have with my 2003 CLK270 CDI diesel.
Symptoms: 1/ The car starts after a second or two if it has been sitting for a while but sometimes does not want to start when the engine is warm. New glow plugs fitten, no change. 2/ I have a lack of power at about 2000 RPM when the turbo should kick in. Occasionaly the turbo will kick in for a short while but most of the time it will not. Dont know if these 2 symptoms are connected or not.
We though it could be the fuel pump, but from what I can gather there are only 2 fuel pumps on the deisel (the high & low pressure pumps) which are both mechanical located on the front of the engine and unlikely to fail. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers, Rich
