Mercedes CLK 320
CLK 2004 320 door lock (keyless)
My driver-side door started giving issues with closing up to a point that it couldn't close at all. Had it stripped & then it closed for a while until nothing. It seems that the issue is with latching mechanism. The feedback I got was the the mechanism has been through some wear & tear, etc.
Q: Do I have to replace the entire lock mechanism and if so, my vehicle has the Keyless Go (889) function, can I not source the standard one & then attach the (889) from my existing/old one? - surely this will save me some money?
Q: Where could I get a replacement without going through my local Merc dealer, wait for 15 days & pay a fortune?

The part numbers are different with KeylessGo. It's possible that a non KeylessGo part would work, but of course you would lose that convenience.
