fault finding errors. car will not speak to diagnostic tools
Recently When a diagnostic tool is connected to my w 209 2003/2004 it will only speak to the engine systems .
It will not connect to the alarm/seat restaint/ insumentpanel/ etc.
It has been suggested by the garage that the ingnition switch is faulty this is about £324 from Mb
I have had a series of odd events over the last few weeks.
Firstly the car would not start . I charged the battery (i suspect I caused this lot to happen as i did not disconnect the battery) when it did start the instrument consul was completely blank. two days later the instrument panel reappeared but showing an seat restraint fault . then it was a nice afternoon and I lowered the hood it would not raise again (on another thread)
Anyone whose mechanical/electrical expertise is current and not based in the 1970's got any ideas ? (ps all spellings are dyslexic and my own)

My contact details are gracy28@gmail.com i possess an Actros 2,3 truckthat has developed a few fault which is not comprehendable. I possess the Star diagnostic System aswell. The veh details are:-

The Software Disgnostic facility of Diagnstic equipment was initially not functioning and providing an Error message Switch on the Ignition (Although Ignition was Switched On). Subsequently the facility started. Fault Codes observed from the star diagnostic system application to Actros veh are:-

hi i do not know if this is relevant or not but my auto shop/garage in uk are telling me that star will not connect with the systems on my car and are suggesting the ignition switch is faulty. I intend to have a new one fitted . it occurs to me that if you have intermittant connection to star may be you have a similar problem Kr peter.
I am absolutly no help on the codes! I will follow the thread and let you know the out come of my new ignition switch
