Unhappy CLK 500 (W209) Valve Cover Leak (wont stop)

Hey guys so I have a 2006 clk 500 recently I saw the my passenger side of my engine was leaking oil onto the exhaust there was also oil all over the top of the passenger side valve cover. I did replace the valve cover gaskets but its still leaking and smoking. Its not severe but its very annoying. I cant seem to fix it and have no idea what else to try. does anyone have any ideas?

What gaskets did you use? The aftermarket gaskets (i.e. Victor Reinz) are too thin to properly seal. Get genuine MBZ gaskets.

I got the gaskets from autohausAZ i believe they are genuine, the funny thing is when i took out the right side gasket it looked fine.

That valve cover may have been over tightened at some point distorting the rim. You might need to replace it. Pull it and run a straight edge down it to see. Also look for any small cracks that might open up when it is tightened down

Are there any other parts that might cause a leak onto the exhaust manifold? on the passenger side of the engine that i might not be thinking about?

AutohauaAZ sells the Victor Reinz gaskets (they may also sell OEMs, I am not sure). This is where I bought mine for the C240 and it's exactly what happened to me - the left side (USA passenger) kept leaking and burning oil on the exhaust manifold. I bought a set from the dealar (cost about $10 more than the Victor Reinz from AutohausAZ) and it fixed it. In fact, I checked the thickness of the gaskets side-by-side and the OEM's were at least 50% fatter. No leaks now!

Reviving a very old thread, but thanks for this tip. This may very well be my issue.
