new brakes

I installed new front rotors and pads on the front a few weeks ago. I wanted to have some time on them to give a review. I got them from brakeperformence.com. I went with the crossdrilled rotors and semi metallic pads as per their recommendation. I wanted the ceramic but they talked me out of them. Anyway, all I can say is, I am very happy! Much less dust and great pedal feel. Going to do the back soon. I also painted my calipers silver.

I like silver calipers - classy looking. Did you brush around the MBZ logo on them?

No I used Dupli-color caliper paint in the spray can. 5 coats. I got the stickers from ebay. They send you 4 stickers in 2 sizes. I wound up with the larger size. They are bigger than stock lettering, but they fit. I actually was going to use the smaller ones which were about the same size as stock, but I messed up putting it on. But now I think l like the bigger ones better. I also chose black lettering instead of the stock white. I then sprayed 2 coats of hi temp clear over the top.

Great job Gary!!
I painted my calipers and rotor center black. Initially taped over the MB logo but screwed up one (last one on rear) and went back and painted the whole thing. I like it... Will search ebay for the logo. thanks

Great choice in tires too!

I was just about to post where to buy new rotors, how is brake performance.com?

Are they OEM Rotors? Why did they talk you out of ceramic ?

thanks

They are not oem rotors. They are made in usa. Go to the website and check them out. Great prices. They have a lifetime warranty. They also answer any questions you may have. As far as ceramic they told me that ceramic pads have a tendency to warp rotors. Plus they don't give as firm of a pedal. They do sell them he said because people want them. So I went with the premium semi metallic pads. So far after my break in, they have less dust than the original pads and an even better pedal feel.

I like the silver, my car is brilliant silver, and was thinking to do the same in the spring, a very clean look, nice job.
