Question Is this Pewter?

Ok.. we've got a 2004 CLK500 cabriolet on the way.. I currently have a 2003 500 that's Silver w/Charcoal interior. The 2004 is going to be Pewter with a stone interior.

From my understanding, Pewter is a little darker than Brilliant Silver but has a bit of a 'goldish' tint to it. Below is Frisco's Pewter CLK:

Looks gorgeous. However, I'm looking at MBUSA.com and they have this baby:

That color is just gorgeous. That car appears to be the same color as this car (which is listed as 'Pewter Silver Metallic'):

My question is - which color is Pewter ?? Frico's car is Pewter but it doesn't look like either of those two Pewters. His Pewter looks more like "Desert Silver".

Wassupwitdat?!

Pewter changes colors in different lights. They all may be Pewter.

IMHO, Pewter differs from Desert Silver in that it has some black in it. This makes all the difference in the world because Desert Silver is the ugliest color on a Benz while Pewter is one of the hottest.

yeah those all loook like pewter to me, and they look different because of the lighting. My car gets that semi-rose looking color like in the pic when it's in direct light but then loses it completely in the shade and just looks gray (like the second pic). I prefer the gray color and actually don't care all that much for the rosy shade that it picks up in the sun. I'm not sure how much tint variation they get from different paint batches and the range of different flavors of pewter that are made.

On second pass, maybe you guys are right. I'll try to find another pic of my car to show what I'm talking about and post back.
