How to remove Alarm/siren 2003 CLK 320
I had the problem of my alarm/siren sound when I was driving and just for no reason. I found some threads on here on how to remove it (which were helpful) but i found a simpler way and wanted to share the how to;
Tools
flat head screwdriver
pliers
socket wrench
5/16 socket
10mm socket
Procedures
-Locate the sound/siren speaker (most threads say behind front driver side tire, but mine was behind front passenger side tire)
-Turn wheels all the way left (this way you do not have to jack the car up or remove the tire)
-remove the splash guard from behind the front passenger tire (not completely, read on and see exactly what I'm talking about)
-remove 1, 5/16 screw from the bottom of panel
-remove 2, plastic screws/anchors bottom/side from panel
-remove 2, 10mm nuts from middle of panel
-wiggle and pry open the panel with something and the alarm/siren should be visible at this point.
-the bracket holding the siren in place has 3, 5/16 nuts to be removed (once this 3 nuts are removed the bracket and siren will be hanging)
-squeeze the wire clip from the siren and pull apart
-the siren and bracket should fall into your hand and your done.
Yes the car had no alarm at this point but I didn't want to buy another siren for $200-$400. The car shows no malfunction sign on dash and you can drive with no worries of the alarm sounding while your driving.
