Unhappy CD Player Removal from Glovebox

Hi,

I've been trying for ages to remove the 6 cd changer from the glove-box of my 2008 CLK 220 Cdi as I have a 'CDC Error' which means I think I have to replace the unit. I've watched a video on YouTube which makes it look very easy, but I think this may be the previous years model. I can only see one screw which I've removed, this allows the unit to move slightly on that side but I still can't get it to budge. I wish there was a video instruction on the newer model car. I'd really appreciate any help! Thanks

It is one screw. There is an angle bracket at the top with one torx screw. The other side has a tab that slides into a slot one side of the glove box. So after you remove the screw you have to slide the player sideways, then forward.

Before you get too carried away, you might want to look and see if a disc is just stuck between the magazine and the actual player side. I have seen the CDC error a couple of times myself and have been able to fix it by carefully "walking" a stuck CD back into the magazine.
