If it's $600 to rebuild the pump, then that sounds like a good price given that a new one is $1800 (parts.com discounted price).
nelone1469,
if Top Hydraulics were only to replace seals, then $600 would indeed be a high price. Replacing the seals, however, is only a small fraction of what we do for the W209 pump rebuild. The W209 pump is quite complex, and in addition to replacing seals, we go through everything: numerous check valves, solenoid valves, pump pistons and rotor, pressure regulator, bearings, motor windings, brushes, armature, noise reduction circuitry, temperature sensor, wiring, relays, etc. We truly upgrade various components, and perform pressure test, flow test, and load test on every pump to make sure that it exceeds factory specs when it leaves our facilities. If we didn't think that we can make these pumps better than brand new ones, then we wouldn't work on W209 pumps.
Having said all this, I'm wondering if it is really the pump that is leaking, as opposed to something spraying or dripping onto the pump (such as a bad hydraulic line). Have you been able to localize the leak? If it really is the pump, has someone "worked" on it before?
