looks like the chrome is painted flat black, nothing major to me.
Also, you might consider swapping the projector lens with a clear one for a sharper and better cutoff and output IMHO

a mix of flat black and gloss. also the projector lens is red on in parkmode (which I believe has never been done before). but yes - not entirely a brand new mod =). has anyone baked open the MBZ bixenons though? I think most of ppl just buy the depot black headlamps

Is parkmode when the headlights are off? I've been away for a long time to know the terms lol..
You can have the shield of the projector painted any color and it'll give what is called the demon eye effect (paint it red and the lens will look red when you look at it from certain angles)
I've opened a couple w203 headlights but the w209 is the same concept.
I do retrofits as a hobby for mostly Mitsubishi lancer now since I drive one

@ahmadk: no worries ... you have a super clean black CLK btw. love your elonged front license plate. I wish plates in the US werent so darn ugly
and yes ... the shield of projector painted blood red demon eye ... which only is visible with dimmer parking lights. when the 6000K d2s bulbs coming on they overpower the red and come out white

Be prepaired for MAJOR police attention, I did similar mod though JUST on my LED bumper strips, only seen like yours w/Parking lights engaged etc.. Ran it for exactly 1 day a Highway patrol was cruising surface streets & saw me pulling outtve mall P-lot (It was almost dusk & I was only running Parking lights, & popo flies up & blks me in my spot?)
Doesn't even get outtve his car, & in a stern voice tells me ONLY Police & Emergency type vehicles are allowed to run Red tinted/lensed/bulbs/LEDS & it's a $500+ ticket! Said get it fixed asap or next time he saw me it's ticket time! I politely thanked him and noted I had no idea it was so illeagal or carrying such steep fine.. I figured running actual Red bulbs in the headlights was the big NO-NO & the fog/parking strips were no big deal? He said absolutely not, the problem is if you drive w/ANY Red lighting on people in front of you will think you're either a cop etc & you can imagine the problems w/that etc..
I never thought of it that way esp since I only used it on fog/parking LED strips, but totally see/get his point..

Thank you sir though the car isn't black.
I have no idea what MB calls it but it's blue/green/purple mix and shows different colors depending on the light lol
The long plate is the best thing this stupid country ever made and my rear is squared just like here in the US
Are the demon eyes wired to your parking lights?
if so, you might wanna wire them to a separate switch so you can turn them on whenever you want.
I have halos and demon eyes on my current car and they're all wired to switches. I drive sometimes with the halos on at sunset and the demon eyes are strictly for shows/meets
that's how my headlights look when they're off. my shields are painted teal/aqua

yah I am definitely fan of the 'hidden' lighting effects. makes it more clandestine to have the subtle colors
