NO LONGER ACTIVE
This is normal. The ESP OFF button only disables the throttle cut-off; the ABS system is still used to attempt to keep the wheels from spinning and control vehicle direction. There is a way to completely defeat ESP by putting the car into "dyno" mode. This is done on the "hidden" menu on the instrument cluster MFD. To access it, turn the ignition key to position 2, put the MFD in "normal" mode (where it displays vehicle speed - 0mph) and press the odometer reset stalk 3 times in succession. You should hear a beep, and then you can scroll thorugh an additional menu that will show things like oil level, battery voltage, etc. On of the options is dyno mode. If this doesn't make sens, search YouTube for "mercedes dyno mode" - there are tons of videos showing how to do it.
