Problem With Buttons

The buttons on my clk the ones for sunroof, garage door opener and interior lighting suddenly stopped working I don't have a clue what can it be. Can someone help me? They worked yesterday but today when I was trying to close my garage did not work and also with interior lighting buttons and sunroof..

My car is a CLK W209 Coupe (55 AMG Model)

Thanks

PS

I checked fuse 3, 9 and the seemed okay.

Does anything in the OCP work? if not, it should be fuse 9 bad. Otherwise, it's a wiring problem.

OCP = Overhead Control Panel. Fuse 9 feeds its functions. If the TeleAid button still works, then it's not the fuse.

I would remove the OCP and check the wiring harness for damage. Has there been any work done on the car? Glass replacement? Install a radar detector?

How is it removed? And nope nothing has been made to the car. Today I went to my local mercedes benz dealer and they said no code was shown on the rear sam but that it could be the fault cause the fuse was okay. But I think that If I remove the ocp like you said and check of damage if could have a more better determination.

For the coupe, remove the large lens for the dome light and you' release two plastic clips there that hold the OCP in place. For the cabriolet, you have to remove the plastic trim on top of the windshield and then there are two screws you remove from above the OCP.

Update

The buttons now work. The problem was a loose cable. The dealer quoted me $765 for the Rear Sam, good luck I took time to remove the OCP.

Glad you got it fixed. I think this is just a matter of the dealer techs not understanding how the SAM works and what it does. To them, it's this magical black box and with something it controls doesn't work, yet the fuse is intact, they replace it. And SAMs do tend to fail - they are especially sensitive to voltage spikes. But, as much as I'd like to defend that diagnosis, I can't. Before replacing a $600 part, it seems reasonable to do 30 minutes of work (maybe $60 in labor) to check that the wiring harnesses are intact. If nothing else, spend 5 minutes and check that fuse #9 has power. If so, then it's not the SAM.

Thanks man! Im going the check that right now.

My problem with the car now is the keyfob unlock/lock feature not working.

I checked the fuse's on the rear sam and since the car was bought used I am thinking the previous owner did not understood AMP very well on the fuse's Cause I am seeing wrong amp fuse's on locations that require different amperage.

I am checking on the locking system but fuse #8 is okay.

What else can I check? the "beep sound" went away and the keyfob now only works at close range on both doors.

thanks!

Since the beep is gone, check the ATA horn module - it's under the fender shroud, behind the front passenger wheel. Another possibility on the RCL not working is a bad antenna amp - it's glued to the glass under the stubby antenna, and it's expensive and a PITA to replace.
