The balance shaft in the early Mercedes-Benz M272 V6 engines was known to have problems due to soft metal being used in the manufacturing process of the timing gear. Over time, this gear wears down, causing timing to be thrown off.

Fortunately, ECS Tuning offers a genuine Mercedes-Benz replacement balance shaft kit complete with the updated timing gear to remedy the situation.

The Balance shaft comes with the new rear counterweight and counterweight securing bolt, all at a fraction of the cost of buying the same parts from the dealership.
