Suspensions: CLK500 vs CLK55
I need to change front struts on my '03 CLK500
Dont want to spend a lot of money on high performance suspension systems nor springs or struts
But like to improve a little on handling
This is a high milage car, and it is going to be used by my son who is going to graduate in the next couple of months
I found complete struts and springs used, on ebay, comming form CLK55s.
The AMG part number of the strut is completly diferent from the regular mercedes that the car has right now.
Is the spring as well diferent?
Is the cabrio different from the coupe?
Does the height change with the 55 AMG to the 500 w/amg package?
Same questions for the rear?
Any help would be gladly appreciated

Basically, the answer to all of your questions is "yes". The suspension differences are in the struts, springs and rear shock bushings. plus anti-way bar thickness. The parts will fit, but they may not give you the ride or stance you want.

What about the CLK550 2009 rudney? Does this have as aggressive of stance and as thick of sway bars as the clk55?

No, the 550 has basically the same suspension as the V6, but with a slight thicker front ant-sway bar, and of course different thickness rear shock bushings based on weight/options. That is, unless you have the sport suspension option, and then it uses a thicker bar and lowered shocks and struts (though still not exactly the same as the CLK55).
