Keyless Go
I have a 2006 CLK350, while driving the other day using the keyless Go, the car shut off on the expressway, I pulled over and placed the key in the ignition and it cranked right up. Recv no lights or warnings. What's going on?
Keyless Go
The car starts fine with keyless Go, it shut off while I was driving. When I pulled over and put the key in, it started right up. I am concerned that the car shut off while driving without the key in the ignition. Hope that makes since..
It makes sense, but since you titled the post "keyless go" I figured you thought there was some problem with the keyless go, and since you said you put the key in I figured you had tried to restart it with keyless go, but it would not start. But it sounds like it would have started, but you used the key instead. I'm betting the issue is not related to keyless go at all, and it would have stopped even with key in. Possibly a failing cam position sensor. Others will chime in.
If the car shut off with no MIL (check engine light) illuminated, then it's not a "camshaft" issue. It could be a bad crankshaft position sensor (CPS) as they can be flaky when it gets hot, but usually the car doesn't start until it cools down. And the CPS seems to be less of a problem with the M272/M273 engines.
In your case, did you get any messages on the MFD related to the key? If not, I doubt this has anything to do with KeylessGo. If it happens again, try restating with the Start/Stop button. If that doesn't work, but the key works in the ignition, then it may be a KeylessGo issue. Maybe the battery int he SmartKey is bad and needs replacing (but that usually results in a message on the MFD).

No, the "kill switch" is the Drive Authorization System, and it works the same regardless of whether it was "authorized" via KeylessGo or the key in the ignition switch. Again, I ask: When it does this, does it or does it no restart via the KeylessGo Start/stop button?
