CLK 500 window wipers
Hey guys. Have no clue how to take off the window wiper blades on this clk 500 2006. Any help is appreciated. and if you know of a cheap place to get the wiperblades please help me out. This florida rain destroys my wiper blades too quickly.

Because of the proprietary mount, blades are expensive. Basically, you can get Bosch blades or OEM Valeo blades. Most auto parts stores can order them for you, but rarely stock them. Mail order may save you a few dollars. As for removal, you just slide the plastic retainer back, then lift the arm off the blade assembly. Just be careful not to let the arm slam back into the glass - it WILL break the windshield (trust me - I know from experience) Here's a photo showing the OE blades with one opened:

Actually, it was the Bosch blade that crack my glass. I went to pull the wiper arm up to clean the windshield and pull the rm off the glass by grabbing the blade. The plastic clip on the Bosch blade broke off and the blade cam loose in my hand, allowing the arm to slam against the glass. I like the Valeo clip better.

that's horrible. i liked the ones on my 04 e320 and 02 cl500. you just flip the wiper and slide them out. no clips to deal with
