Stock CLK55 wheel weight? Wheel selection questions

What is the stock rim weight for the CLK55? Does 27lbs front and 29lbs rear sound about right?

Are these the correct stock wheel number's?
Front 18x7.5 ET37 225/40/18
Rear 18x8.5 ET30 255/35/18

How important is it to look at light weight wheels in terms of performance? I know it can help with traction, handling, acceleration, braking, basically everything but is there actually a noticeable difference?

There is not a lot of choice for light weight wheels here. I am looking at 18" TSW Nurburgring or some SL63 replica's, both staggered 8.5 and 9.5". The TSW's are 19 and 21lbs, the replica's are a cosmetic choice, they are no heavier than stock but also not much lighter (24 and 26lbs). I think 18" would be best, even though that is the stock wheel size, I think 19" looks a little too large in some of the photos I have seen.

TSW
Front 18x8.5 ET 32
Rear 18x9.5 ET 40 - according to the calculator this will be 22mm closer to the suspension, would a spacer be required?

Replica - both are ET35 but apparently will require a spacer to clear the front brakes.

Any opinions welcomed.

TSW

sounds about right -- problem is the car with OEM wheels already has problems with wheel spin, I would assume lighter wheels would make it worst -- I was gonna go with the TSW Nurburgring or the Mandrus Millennium ... what are you doing with the OEM wheels?

I will keep them for a while in case there are any issues with the new wheels, getting the right spacers etc.

Yeah that is true regarding the wheel spin- lighter wheels won't waste as much torque as heavier wheels for rotational acceleration. But this has the effect of putting more of the available engine power/torque to the ground, just the same as headers or an ecu tune. Also better fuel economy, handling, braking everything.

I googled whether lighter wheels are worth it and pretty much every forum, VW, BMW, Audi, toyota, 350z people all say it definitely is so it looks like I will get the TSW's. The only thing is they are universal not hubcentric so hopefully they can get an aluminum locator ring to make them hubcentric. I am not looking forward to cleaning them though, the stock amg wheels take long enough.

I will see how much clearance there is after installing the KW V1's.
