6 or 8 piston Brake Upgrade?
My next planned mod is a brake upgrade (with a Kleemann compressor to follow), and I've looked at the AMG 8 pistons, Kleemanns, Brembos, and Movits so far. I like the Movit 6 pistons the best from what I've seen at this point (and the little that I know about high end brakes), and I'm hoping to get some advice from some of the more experienced people here.
These are my favorites at this point:

![](http://www.movit.de/images/mbsc01.jpg)
Anyone have any input or guidance?
Also, any of the photoshop guys care to do me a favor and see how they look on my car? If so, use this pic

THANKS!

those brakes look huge and mighty impressive... i don't think you need any photoshopping to sell yourself on these brakes...
but, if you really wanna see how it looks, let me know... i could help you do it..

thanks - Actually the photoshop request was made to give me a basis pic that I could then subsequently PS to see how different caliper colors look on my car (I'd do it myself but my PS skills are just not up to par). These movits only come in yellow, red, and black standard afaik, and I'm not too hot on any of them and want to see if I would want to have them re-powdercoated a custom color (silver, pewter...?). What's your opinion on the caliper color?

Hey Frisco,
Did you get your brakes yet? I'm also thinking about brakes. I initially thought Brembo (they now make rears), but didn't realize how nice the Movits look.
How's the quality of the Movits compared to Brembo. I've never seen wheels with Movits.
Would these brakes give off the same amount of brake dust as OE?
I kind of like the yellow. It stands out and adds some color to the wheel.

brembo gt brakes
the brembo kits 355fr and 328rr are very good compared to stock.
installation very easy on front but rear needed backing plate trimmed down flush with mounting index due to caliper size, my rear kit was first supplied by racetecnologies which is the company who makes brackets and rotor hats to mount brembo calipers and rotors, brembo only actually makes part of the kit. have no price comparison to movit but brembo stuff more reasonably priced than kleeman, renntech etc. brembo offers red, black and silver versions of calipers. rear kit not even in brembo literature yet but part number is 2C1.6009A and sells retail at $2595

Sorry my ISP has been down. Pricing is somewhere in the neighborhood of other big brake kits, cheaper than Brabus and Kleemann, but slightly more than Brembo.

brembo fit
jerry, its not a big deal, get a kit and come to my place and it will be on in no time, i do my own work and they will be professionally installed, a token of your appreciation will be the only fee, my kit went on with only the trimming of the backing plates, will remove a wheel on my car so you can see before anything is done if that will put your mind at rest, have plenty of mercedes brake fluid in new unsealed cans, all tools available, tom incredible on the board can vouch for the quality of my work

I think I'll probably go with the Brembo GT for the fronts and leave the stock for now. Don't want to mess around with the rears if it's not bolt on. Maybe next year, Brembo will have bolt-ons for the rear.
I'm glad to hear the fronts are a straight forward kit.
Does anyone know how long (on average) the pads on the Brembos last?

Thanks for the clarification. Do you have a spare tire that can accomodate the Brembos? I don't think the stock spare will fit.
