clk63 (not black series)
anyone ever driven or owned a clk63? wat are your thoughts about and it is a significant power difference with the clk550? I wanted some power gains with the clk but i searched and havent found any real power mods so im considering the clk63 since i love the clk anyone thoughts or suggestions?

The power difference is noticeable between a 55 and 63 AMG is about 100 hp.
From a 550 to a 63 I think the HP is diff is near 200hp.
For performance the only thing the CLK63 needs is rear traction.
Install an LSD is you like modding.
63 brakes are superior, yet do be aware of the brakes parts cost,
Everything else, same dependability as a standard CLK.

no way the hp difference is 200hp a clk550 is 382bhp where the clk63 is 475bhp I jus wanted to know if it was more power i wanted would the clk 63 cab do the trick sure the numbers look good but i never driven one to know first hand

Yeah, his math is off since a 550 has 20 more hp than a 55. I've never driven a 63, but I have no doubt you'd feel the extra 87 hp quite a bit. You should ask in the AMG forum because not many 63 owners lurk here.

2008 clk550 - Navigator - Frontier
The C63 is 451hp - the 550 is 382 = +69
The C63 is 3935 pounds - the 550 is 3720 = +215
The C63 is about .4 sec quicker to 60mph and .6 sec and 5-6 mph through a quarter mile.
The C63 is also slightly longer and slightly wider.
The dynamics are different. Even with the additional 200 pounds, you should feel the difference.
Ain't this fun.....

The CLK550's advertised performance figures are grossly understated. The main reason for this was to keep from really angering CLK55 buyers. In 2006, the CLK550's began appearing on dealer lots where CLK55's were still for sale. A MY2006 CLK55 cabriolet listed for $83K, but a new MY2007 CLK550 was $63K. So for $20K less, you got a more powerful engine, though not a true "AMG". So, MBZ decided to advertise the CLK550 with specs just liek the outgoing CLK55, yet in reality, it is much faster. Here's a link for some "scientific" specs of the CLK550:
http://www.automobile-catalog.com/ca...7g-tronic.html
To compare that to the CLK63 AMG:

They don;t go into other things like handling and skidpad, where, of course, the AMG will excel. Of course these are not real-world test results, but scientific calculations. But they are useful for comparisons.
