CLK500 Problems...Solved?

Just want to start off by saying I still think my dealer is filled with idiots. They did not get a good review from me when MB called.

Brakes are still squeaking. Radio reception is still fuzzy. Embarrasing for a Kia let alone a Mercedes.

Now on the engine fluttering/ticking sound that has been driving me nuts. I was just glancing at the E-class board and ran across a post that complained of the same problem. So I did a search of the board and found three potential solutions. One person had the dealer (after much *****ing) replace the cam and valvetrain. A second group of people had the purge valve replaced. A third (very large) group had the motor mounts replaced. Seems like the ticking noise was actually caused by ****ty motor mounts that allowed the engine to rock back and forth. Has anyone else heard this noise or these fixes?

Also, where can I find a list of service bulletins. They have to be posted on the internet somewhere. Thanks.

I remember the motor mount issue being discussed in this W209 forum several times.

A quick list of the most common TSBs for this car can be found here.

Just spoke with the service manager at my dealership and he said he didn't think the motor mounts would be the issue because they haven't replaced those on other cars in years. I told him that people on this board and the E500 board complained of this ticking problem and the solution was motor mounts. He wants me to come in AGAIN and take the shop foreman for a drive AGAIN and point out the sound to him AGAIN.

I have a 2003 CLK500 & they replaced my motor mounts, have them check if yours is in the vin range, then they will say if it is that they have to be bad first otherwise MB won't pay them. A crock really.

Problem solved?

Did the ticking sound go away after they replaced the motor mounts?
