1999 CLK 430
![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Can anyone offer me current numbers on the monthly lease price of a CLK500. My white 02 430 comes off lease in a year or so and I am thinking about getting a standard white CLK500 with the sunroof and the heated seats. MSRP $56,600
I have heard from a few people that while still hot, dealers are discounting the standard CLKS now because the convertibles and AMG's are out.
Currently, I put nothing down, leased through Chase Bank for 39 months and pay $690.50 each month from Princeton Mercedes, in Princeton NJ. I get 15,000 miles each year.
I know the 500 is about $5,000 more than my 430. But I also think its residual is higher than the 64% they used on my second 430. (When I leased my first 430 in 1999, the residual was 67%)
I don't think I should pay more than $760.00 a month for a clk500 for 39 months?
Any information is appreciated. Thank you. CM

CLK Lease
I am in the same position as you, except I am looking at the CLK320. Don't forget, there is a $1000 gas guzzler tax that is not residualized, so that adds about $30/month over what you may be expecting. I was quoted about $830/month from Benzel Busch in Englewood for a 500. That was more than I wanted to spend without owning anything at the end. That was for 39 months thru MB. He told me that they don't really deal on the 500s and the residual value is slightly lower on the 500s to make them a bit easier to sell when they come off lease. I am going to deal with David Michael in Freehold. I spoke to Roy, he's the internet representative. Answered every question I had. Didn't hide a thing. For me, a CLK with Comfort, Lighting, Appearence, Moonrook, and CD, a $50,815 MSRP will lease for about $666/month thru MB for 15k for 39 months. Plus, when you need service, they will come to your home or office, drop off a C-class, take your car back, perform the service, and bring your car back to you. Sounds like pretty good service to me. I plan on ordering my car in the next couple of weeks. Please let me know how things go with your 500. Also are you aware of the multiple security deposits to lower your monthly payment?

i was also thinking about leasing a clk320..wut is the ending residual on a 51k car? are you going to put any money to reduce your monthly payments? also is there any time period where sales of the standard clk320 might be reduced??maybe during winter? i know market price on conver. drop during the winter season.. i want to get the clk under msrp, but im not too sure if the dealers will budge because there car's are very popular..thx

I believe that through Mercedes for 39 months with 15k per year the residual is currently 63%. The residuals change throughout the year. Plus, you get the program that is in place when the car is delivered, not when you order it. The residual may be 62 or 61 when you take delivery. Residual gets lower the closer you get to the new model year coming out. Residual obviously would be higher if you go for 12k miles per year. And about the purchase price being under MSRP, it's all about the basics...supply and demand. Here in the NY Metro area there are about 8 dealerships within driving distance of one another. It helps to get a better deal here than if there was one dealer within a 500 mile radius.
Good luck
