Stepper Repair - which kit ?

Have 2 stepper motors with the "1- 2 second" click lasting 30 seconds or so on start up. Assuming the problem is the stepper actuators (arms).

Want to have all repair parts before disassembling the dash. There are 2 actuator repair kits. One has about ~10 parts and the other has 2 actuators. The kits seem to be mutually exclusive (unique) with respect to the repair parts.

Is there a way to ID the suspect Steppers to possibly avoid buying both kits. Hidden codes in the climate unit ? trouble shooting guide?

Has experience shown that certain actuators are more likely to crack than others.

Any guidance to expedite the repair appreciated.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
If you have an advanced scanner (or SDS) that can pull codes from the ACC, you'll know which one(s) aren't working.
